America is back

by Neil Rickert

It’s been a while since I last posted. And I rarely post on politics. But it was good to see the election of Biden/Harris.

For the last four years, it has somehow seemed as if I were living in The Banana Republic of America. And it may continue to feel that way until inauguration day in January. But the old USA will be back as Joe Biden attempts to re-unite the nation.

I guess I’ll keep this short and sweet. And this is my first post with the wordpress Block editor — which greatly dislike.

  1. There are many WordPress subscribers who loathe the new Block Editor—it is simply too complicated and not meant for weekend blogging hobbyists. It is designed for businesses and THEIR web-designers FOR business revenues. That is the only reason why WordPress has employed it… so they can begin monetizing and generating profits. It is the same ole, same ole in the U.S.’s hyper-energized Capitalistic economy.

On our new President and Vice-President Elects, it will be a very refreshing return to human decency, uniting and healing our country, and rejoining the rest of the world in fighting against Climate Change—among a whole plethora of other dire issues, not the least of which is taking COVID-19 a lot more serious here!!! GEEEZZZZ, as if 250,000 dead Americans isn’t enough to slap our (fake) President’s head/face into reality!!! And that number of so many needless deaths is still climbing due to the sector, demographic of Americans that followed every (lie) word of tRumpsky’s sheer ignorance and Mob-style divide & conquer (your own citizens!)… all to merely generate profits for themselves.

Good riddance I say! Normalcy never smelt so sweet. šŸ™‚

  2. Meanwhile, I found this song to be SO apropos today and the coming days/weeks of lawsuits, courts, judges, etc, etc, from the White House trying to get in the judicial doors in futility. Decency, normalcy, and sanity have returned!!! Check it out… šŸ˜

  3. “The old USA” made Donald Trump president, and it has not gone away. The past four years bore witness to an American mythology involving lonely heroes who play by their own rules to realize their dream through sheer force of will. Fortunately, because Trump is such a vain idiot, its expression this time around was more farcical than menacing.

Still, driven by this mythology, the U.S. was foundering. Impressively, it has managed to right itself. But there will be other storms, and the mythology of American exceptionalism has not changed.
